Memorial Day

We thought about trying to get out to  Chicago today, but last minute we decided to stay home. We started our day off by going to the driving range with a couple of our friends, Brady and Ali. I haven't been golfing for... a really long time. I had a couple good swings, but I definitely need a lot more practice. The place that we went was a really good price, and it was fun to go with friends. I thought I had some pictures of Scott, but I only took video of him.

After spending some time at the driving range we went to our land lord's Memorial day BBQ. Pretty much everyone we typically hang out with show up to his events, half of us rent from him, the other half just know him and he is the most generous and welcoming person I have ever met. Scott and I both ended up a little more sun than we realized, I guess it's time for us to get some sun screen.

Exploring Milwaukee

Scott had a week off between his spring and summer semesters. We decided that I would take the day off and we would go down to Chicago for the day. Well, last week the weather wasn’t very cooperative and it was in the low 40’s and rainy in Chicago. As much fun as Chicago sounded, I’m a wimp when it comes to colder temperatures and didn’t want to spent my day off in the wet and cold. We decided to stay home and hang out instead. We ran a few errands in the morning, and bought a few outfits for the baby.

Later, we ended up going to the Milwaukee Public Museum and then to dinner with a couple of friends.

Afterward the museum we went for burgers at AJ Bombers. My burger was really good, and it was a fun place to eat. They had a peanut butter hamburger on their menu, and Ali was going to try it but chickened out and ordered a more conventional burger.
Scott already told me that my legs look retarded in this picture...
If we can't make it out to Chicago, we might as well explore Milwaukee a little more. This was much more fun than sitting at home all day. We are going to start making a list of things that we want to do before we go back to Utah and start checking things off.

If you haven't heard...

Scott and I have some pretty great news. We’re going to be having a baby! We couldn’t be more excited, and Scott is going to be an AWESOME dad (especially once he is done with dental school). Scott and I hit a few bumps in the road before getting to this point, and it took us a lot longer to get here than we were originally planning. We made it, finally, and we can’t wait for this little one to get here.

We found out that I was pregnant on Valentine’s Day, I was originally planning to wait until Scott’s birthday (February 17th)  to take the test, but I just knew that I was pregnant and couldn’t wait any longer before taking a pregnancy test. I felt like February was going to be the month, so much so that I went to the store and bought a little boy and a little girl outfit to give to Scott once the test came back positive. As soon as I saw those two pink lines I went in to Scott and told him I had a present. I told him that he could open it for Valentine’s Day or his birthday, he could choose (I know Scott well enough to know that he will never choose to wait for a present when given the option). I got his reaction on camera, but Scott won't let me post it.

I am just shy of 15 weeks right now, putting my due date on October 27th (6 months, seems like a long time but a short time all at once). If you want to follow my pregnancy a little more, I put a link up on the top of this blog to our page about the pregnancy.
