Toothpaste... The guy cracks me up

Last night Scott and I were laying on the couch and he fell asleep (He always blames me for wanting to go to bed early, but I think he likes it just as much as I do sometimes). I didn’t want to wake him up because he has been having a hard time getting comfortable the last couple of nights because his neck has been sore. I finished up a couple of things and got ready for bed by myself. He woke up a little after I had gotten into bed and didn’t want to wake me up so he decided to get ready for bed in the dark, including brushing his teeth. He told me that he couldn’t get any toothpaste to come out of the tube so he had to squeeze really hard. When he still couldn’t get any out  he decided to turn on the light, thinking that maybe the cap wasn't off all the way or something. With the help of the light he was able to see that the cap was off and he did have toothpaste on his toothbrush... and in the sink... and all over the tube of toothpaste.  When Scott told me the story I was laughing so hard, he certainly does put a smile on my face.

We may be boring, but that's okay

I keep asking myself why I have a blog for just Scott and me because I rarely post anything. It always seems like everyone we know live these completely entertaining and eventful lives. I keep waiting for something exciting and “blog worthy” to happen so I can have something epic to write about. It turns out that Scott and I lead a relatively boring and uneventful life. We have one big thing going on in our lives right now… I’m growing a human being, which is a HUGE deal for us (huge enough that I have a blog solely dedicated to updates on my pregnancy).
  • I want to blog so that I can look back and remember how much fun Scott and I are having at this time in our lives. We might not be doing anything to crazy or memorable, but life is good right now, and I don’t want to forget that.
  • I want to blog so that our families have a way to keep up with what is going on in our lives while we are far away. I know that I would love to know more about what is going on in my sibling’s lives and we rarely call each other just to catch up.
  • I want to blog, because I enjoy writing. I know that I’m not a great writer by any means, but I enjoy sitting down and putting thoughts on paper.
Although I love seeing that my blogs are being viewed I think that I blog more for me than for anyone else. So, here is what Scott and I have been up to lately.

We watch a lot of Netflix, much more than I would like to admit to. We have enjoyed going outside for walks as long as it isn't too muggy out. Recently we have been watching the World cup, which is so much more fun since our team won their first game! (Go USA) We are working on living on a smaller budget than we are used to. After our little girl comes I’m not sure if I will go back to work or not so we need to be prepared to cut back. I have been trying to make dinner for us every night, I cannot believe how fast eating out adds up.  Right now life is pretty good at the Robinson's.

Scott was sure that he wanted the large size sundae.
It ended up being huge and he couldn't eat it all.

Memorial Day

We thought about trying to get out to  Chicago today, but last minute we decided to stay home. We started our day off by going to the driving range with a couple of our friends, Brady and Ali. I haven't been golfing for... a really long time. I had a couple good swings, but I definitely need a lot more practice. The place that we went was a really good price, and it was fun to go with friends. I thought I had some pictures of Scott, but I only took video of him.

After spending some time at the driving range we went to our land lord's Memorial day BBQ. Pretty much everyone we typically hang out with show up to his events, half of us rent from him, the other half just know him and he is the most generous and welcoming person I have ever met. Scott and I both ended up a little more sun than we realized, I guess it's time for us to get some sun screen.

Exploring Milwaukee

Scott had a week off between his spring and summer semesters. We decided that I would take the day off and we would go down to Chicago for the day. Well, last week the weather wasn’t very cooperative and it was in the low 40’s and rainy in Chicago. As much fun as Chicago sounded, I’m a wimp when it comes to colder temperatures and didn’t want to spent my day off in the wet and cold. We decided to stay home and hang out instead. We ran a few errands in the morning, and bought a few outfits for the baby.

Later, we ended up going to the Milwaukee Public Museum and then to dinner with a couple of friends.
I know it's dark... Brady, Scott, and I

Brady, Ali, and I

Afterward the museum we went for burgers at AJ Bombers. My burger was really good, and it was a fun place to eat. They had a peanut butter hamburger on their menu, and Ali was going to try it but chickened out and ordered a more conventional burger.
Scott already told me that my legs look retarded in this picture...
If we can't make it out to Chicago, we might as well explore Milwaukee a little more. This was much more fun than sitting at home all day. We are going to start making a list of things that we want to do before we go back to Utah and start checking things off.

If you haven't heard...

Scott and I have some pretty great news. We’re going to be having a baby! We couldn’t be more excited, and Scott is going to be an AWESOME dad (especially once he is done with dental school). Scott and I hit a few bumps in the road before getting to this point, and it took us a lot longer to get here than we were originally planning. We made it, finally, and we can’t wait for this little one to get here.

We found out that I was pregnant on Valentine’s Day, I was originally planning to wait until Scott’s birthday (February 17th)  to take the test, but I just knew that I was pregnant and couldn’t wait any longer before taking a pregnancy test. I felt like February was going to be the month, so much so that I went to the store and bought a little boy and a little girl outfit to give to Scott once the test came back positive. As soon as I saw those two pink lines I went in to Scott and told him I had a present. I told him that he could open it for Valentine’s Day or his birthday, he could choose (I know Scott well enough to know that he will never choose to wait for a present when given the option). I got his reaction on camera, but Scott won't let me post it.

I am just shy of 15 weeks right now, putting my due date on October 27th (6 months, seems like a long time but a short time all at once). If you want to follow my pregnancy a little more, I put a link up on the top of this blog to our page about the pregnancy.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

A couple of Scott’s dental friends were going to a Brewers game and invited us along. The Brewers are actually doing really well this year so we were excited to go. I need to learn to be better at taking pictures, because this is the only picture that we got while we were at the game. The Brewers won the game, but it was close pretty much the entire time.

The highlight of the night for me was getting hit by a ball. Ryan Braun hit a foul ball, and it came straight toward us. I guess everyone else’s reaction is to try and catch the ball; mine was to lean into Scott and shield my face. The odds were slim that it would hit right where I was sitting anyway, at least that is what I thought until the ball hit me. I’m not exactly sure how it happened, maybe it hit my chair first and me? My side stung for a couple minutes afterward, but I was fine. The girl sitting in front of me was the person who ended up with the ball, and all I got was a bruised hip area. For a couple of days I couldn't lay on my left side without the bruise hurting for a minute. It’s gone now, no permanent damage… I still can’t believe that I was hit by a baseball during a game, our seats weren't even that close.

Once a Cougar, Always a Cougar! Go BYU!

Months ago Scott read an article saying the BYU was predicted to come to Milwaukee to play in the NCAA tournament. Those predictions are constantly changing and we knew that the chances were low that Milwaukee would be the place they would come, it wasn't even clear if BYU would make it into the tournament in the first place.

We were so excited when we found out that BYU was coming to Milwaukee. The tickets were a little pricey, but we figured we will probably never have another chance to see BYU play in the tournament. So we went ahead and got tickets with a couple of our neighbors. Even though BYU didn't win it was still fun to go and cheer them on. It was a lot like being home, except we had a much smaller cheering section and better seats.  Here are some pictures:

After the game our landlord bought us dinner. It made the loss seem a little less sad and it was fun to have dinner with some of our friends. It was such a fun day even though we watched our Cougars lose. The fight song has been stuck in my head ever since.
